Big Turtle Studio, located at 10 Riverside Yard, London, SW17 0BB, is an open artist studio founded by classically trained painters Annam Butt and Mark Chen. Situated in Wimbledon, the studio offers a welcoming space for artists of all ages and experience levels to practice and learn alongside like-minded individuals. We strive to create a friendly practice and learning environment where everyone is encouraged to have an input on projects, workshops, and more.

Our studio provides a range of artist training activities, including weekly untutored life drawing classes. We also offer lessons that delve into the fundamental principles of portraiture and composition, suitable for more ambitious projects, with guidance from both Annam and Mark. Additionally, the studio hosts guest and visiting artist workshops, featuring internationally renowned artists.

As part of the Wimbledon Art Studios community, we participate in annual open artist studio events and exhibitions, including the Wandsworth Art Fair and the Wimbledon Art Fair. During these exhibitions, we showcase and offer most of our artwork for sale.

Our regular open hours are Wednesdays from 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM, and Saturday from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM. We invite you to join us during these times to explore your creativity in a supportive and inspiring intimate environment.
